Taco Bell Creamy Chipotle Sauce Dupe
Taco Bell’s Creamy Chipotle Sauce has always been one of my favorites, but charging eighty cents for a tiny side of it is where I draw the line. That sauce is the entire reason certain menu items are as good as they are, and once you realize that, you start wanting it on everything. Naturally, I had to figure out how to make it at home.
After getting thousands of requests and doing a lot of testing, this version is finally spot on. It is creamy, tangy, lightly spicy, and has that smoky depth that makes the original so addictive. The chipotle adobo liquid brings the heat and smokiness without overwhelming the sauce, while mayonnaise and sour cream keep everything rich and smooth. Lime juice brightens it up, a touch of vinegar adds tang, and just a little sugar balances everything out so it tastes exactly right.
This is one of those sauces that instantly upgrades whatever you put it on. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, bowls, fries, sandwiches, honestly anything. Letting it chill for a bit is key because the flavors really come together once it has time to rest.
If you love Taco Bell sauces and want to stop paying extra for tiny portions, this one is for you.
Enjoyyy! ❤️

🧾 Ingredients 🧾
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons liquid from a can of chipotle peppers in adobo
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon liquid from a jar of pickled jalapeños or white distilled vinegar
1/2 teaspoon white granulated sugar
👨🍳 Instructions 👨🍳
1) Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, chipotle pepper liquid, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, lime juice, pickled jalapeño liquid or vinegar, and sugar to a mixing bowl. Whisk until the sauce is completely smooth and evenly combined.
2) Transfer the sauce to an airtight container or squeeze bottle and refrigerate for at least one hour before using. This resting time allows the flavors to fully develop. The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to seven days. If any separation occurs, simply whisk or stir again before using.
