🧾 Ingredients 🧾
1 cup long grain rice
2 tablespoons neutral oil
1 tablespoon tomato powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon tomato bouillon (if you do not have tomato powder, add an additional 1/2 tablespoon)
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon citric acid
1/2 teaspoon MSG
1 and 1/3 cup water
👨🍳 Instructions 👨🍳
1) In a frying pan or a sauté pan over medium heat, add the oil.
2) When the oil has heated through, add the long grain rice and using a spatula move the rice around to coat the rice in the oil. Toast the rice for 3-5 minutes moving it frequently.
3) While the rice is toasting, prepare the water by combining water, tomato powder, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, tomato bouillon, paprika, citric acid and MSG. Mix together until the ingredients have been fully incorporated.
4) When the rice becomes opaque and begins lightly browning from toasting in the oil, pour in the seasoned water and stir. Bring to a boil, cover with a tight lid, reduce heat to low and allow this to cook for 15 minutes.
5) When the 15-minute timer goes off, turn the heat off, leave the pan on the eye undisturbed and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Do not open the lid.
6) When the 10 minute timer is finished, open the lid, fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
